Commencing a hotel in Gandhinagar which is the capital of state, Gujarat located 23 kms from Ahmedabad (Commercial capital and major industrial centre of Gujarat). Gandhinagar is well connected with Ahmedabad city by rail, road and International airport.
It has seven Special Economic Zones and ten Industrial Estates along with creative IT Park and Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT).
Our client wished to evaluate the potential for a 3/ 4 star Hotel in Gandhinagar. The exact location of the proposed hotel was close to both Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
The Challenges Were…
If working professionals who travel to Ahmedabad would wish to accommodate in client’s hotel in Gandhinagar taking into consideration enough options of 3 & 4 star hotels in Ahmedabad.
Our Approach…
o Primary data was collected with a structured questionnaire to gather information about current usage habits, expected facilities and price sensitivity.
o Secondary data was collected to gather information about competitor profile, tourist population growth, infrastructure development and upcoming big industrial units and hotels in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
o Below we will see percentage of respondents who are willing/ unwilling to consider client’s accommodation set up as well as reasons for reluctance
Outcome…
o Recommended that client should plan well ahead and consider setting up the hotel to be operational by 2019 to coincide with the growth of the location.
o We expect that by the end of year 2017, the location will be become more populated by residential complexes and the client will be sure about the development status of the proposed location along with the increase in demand.
o We also helped the client with the overall demand for hotel room nights as per various sectors & development status of the site. Also, respondents’ willingness to consider the hotel for future requirements and reasons for reluctance along with preferred price was captured.
