The client publishes quarterly survey on various topics revolving around workplace. The survey interacts with the employees and employers to understand their viewpoint on the given topic. They wanted to know the role of superstition and personal beliefs in the modern day workplace and its impact on their day to day work life.
Our Approach…
Market Search conducted this study in 8 major cities in India with sample size of 800 which included: Employees in the age group of 21 to 45 years across the industries, Employees working at different levels and departments.
Outcome…
It was observed that management in India was generally adaptive to various superstitious beliefs of employees and do not restrict them from practising them at work as long as it does not negatively affect productivity. Besides, a majority of the senior management at companies themselves believe that superstitious practices are more prevalent at the top level.
Vaastu Shastra and Feng Shui are the most common practices followed at the workplace, the personal favourites are lucky charms like stones, colour specific items and specific number oriented items and the ubiquitous bamboo shoot.
